Australian cricketer Steve Smith is back in the nets after undergoing elbow surgery in January. Smith, along with David Warner is expected to play in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019.

Smith was banned for a year after his involvement was proven in the ball-tampering scandal against South Africa in Cape Town Test in 2018. He had accepted his mistake later. He and Warner had conspired to get Cameron Bancroft to apply sandpaper on the ball for reverse swing.

The former Australia cricketer posted a video on his Instagram account on Thursday night. “Great to have my first hit back. The elbow is feeling good!”, he wrote.

Smith will be eligible for selection from March 29. He can be picked for the last two ODI matches against Pakistan in UAE.
