Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat locked horns with each other in the 44th match of the ongoing Big Bash League on Tuesday (January 29).
The match was completely one-sided as Hurricanes won it by 9 wickets and 34 balls to spare. However, an event that grabbed everyone’s attention from the encounter was a towering six from Heat’s wicket-keeper batsman Jimmy Peirson.
During the 17th over of Brisbane’s innings, Peirson smashed a wide delivery from James Faulkner over mid-wicket. Unfortunately, the ball hit a spectator on the face as he was attempting to catch it.
The injury could have been more serious had the spectator not seen the ball coming towards him. Later, the cameras caught the fan sitting in the stands with an ice pack in his one hand and some beverage on the other.
