Indian cricket fraternity salutes the armed forces on the 71st Indian Army Day

January 15 is celebrated as the Indian Army Day, in recognition of Field Marshal KM Cariappa's taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, on January 15, 1949.

The day sees parades and military shows in the national capital New Delhi and the army headquarters. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.

On 71st Army Day today, the Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to praise the Army's valor and pay homage to the soldiers who died for the country.
