AUS v IND 2018-19: "It's not a team, it's a family," tweets skipper Virat Kohli

Anushka Sharma congratulated team India too after defeating Australia by 2-1.

India created history and the date 07/01/2019 will never be forgotten now. Indian cricket team won their first Test series in Australia and it happened under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. 

The 30-year-old cricketer expressed his feelings on Twitter and shared pictures as well. Calling the team a family, he wrote, "So proud to be a part of this team, great feeling! ???? This is not just a team this is a family. ???? Onwards and upwards from here on. ???????????????????????? @BCCI."

Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma was present on the ground with him to share the happiness. The Bollywood actress had traveled with the team and was seen in whites alongside Virat after the last Test was drawn.

Anushka also posted pictures and congratulated the Indian team for their outstanding performance. 

"They came. They conquered !! History written and created by this bunch !! Huge congratulations to all players, coaching unit and support staff; it takes undying perseverance & solid conviction to focus on what’s important and shut out the rest .???????????? So so happy and proud of you my love @imVkohli ," her tweet read.

India defeated Australia in Adelaide and Melbourne to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The 2-1 lead was enough for India to create history despite the Sydney Test being declared a draw due to rains.
