Northamptonshire defeated Durham by seven wickets inside two days in their Specsavers County Championship Division Two clash. Chasing just 65, it was a cakewalk for the visitors at Emirates Riverside.
Out of the three wickets, they lost in a 65-run chase, Akshar Patel picked up two. Durham could only score 129 and 133 in both innings. Patel, when given an opportunity to bat, could only score 8 and 0 in two innings.
The Indian left-arm off-spinner's delivery to dismiss Northamptonshire captain Alex Wakely was a stunner. The arm-ball from Akshar breached Wakely's forward defense to uproot the stumps.
The video of Akshar's outstanding delivery was shared by the official Twitter account of Durham. They wrote, "Patel's arm ball takes off stump."
As seen in the video, Patel was himself delighted by the delivery. What better sight for a bowler than to see stumps shattered?
