England’s ace fast bowlers – James Anderson and Stuart Broad – indulged in a friendly Twitter banter on Friday (July 20). The witty chitchat initiated with a tweet from Stephen Jones, who plays for Frindsbury Cricket Club in England.

Taking to Twitter, Jones put his query by stating: “A question I feel needs to be answered ... does @jimmy9 bowl from the James Anderson end at Old Trafford or allow @StuartBroad8 that honour?!”

Replying to the tweet, Broad wrote: "Every morning of a Test we walks in & says 'James Anderson is going to bowl from the James Anderson End today.'"

Broad's response resulted in a series of witty tweets, with Anderson trolling his fellow pacer for changing his club every so often.

The banter session ended with Jones declaring Anderson as the winner.

Anderson and Broad are expected to play a vital role in the pace department during the forthcoming Test series against India. In order to prove their fitness, the duo recently returned to first-team action. While Anderson took part in Lancashire's second XI against Nottinghamshire, Broad featured in the annual Brambles Bank match.

The highly-anticipated Test series between India and England will commence on August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Lord’s (Aug 09-Aug 13) will host the second Test while Trent Bridge (Aug 18-Aug 22), Rose Bowl (Aug 30-Sep 03) and The Oval (Sep 07-Sep 11) will stage the third, fourth and fifth Test respectively.
