Former Australia skipper Steve Smith was seen in the action again after being banned for one year from playing for the national side. Smith had an impressive return from cricket exile. He made a half-century in a Twenty20 cricket match in Canada.

Playing in the Global T20 League Canada for Toronto Nationals, Smith scored a 41-ball 61, which included eight fours and a six, before getting stumped.

Like his fans, who were eager to watch their favorite holding the cricket bat again, Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan also looked pleased watching Smith bat.

He tweeted a picture of the Aussie batsman and wrote, "Pleased to see  him back to the game and played classical inning well Played @stevesmith49 mate ????????????????????????."

After the innings, Smith said, "I didn't feel as good as I would've liked but it's nice to score runs when you're not feeling good."

The 29-year-old was suspended for a year along with David Warner and Cameron Bancroft by Cricket Australia in March for plotting ball tampering with sandpaper during the third test against South Africa.

Smith's 12-month ban, however, does not extend to domestic tournaments outside Australia and so he was eligible to play in the six-team Canadian league.
