Delhi Daredevils are playing the Sunrisers in a must-win encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat.

Shakib Al Hasan struck twice in his first over to jolt Delhi early. He dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Jason Roy of back to back deliveries to transfer the initiative SRH's way.

Rishabh Pant then was just starting to stitch a partnership with his captain Shreyas Iyer (3). However, a miscommunication accounted for Iyer's wicket first and then Harshal Patel (24) who was sent in as a pinch hitter also was run out through a miscommunication. Those runouts slowed down the scoring rate for Delhi in the middle overs.

Pant who had a play a part in both those run outs then started hitting the ball to all parts of the ground especially to Siddharth Kaul and Rashid Khan. He added a  63 run partnership with Maxwell (9)  who took a back seat and thoroughly entertained a superb batting display by the DD left-hander. DD finally finished at 187 for 5  as Pant remained unbeaten on 128*.

SRH bowlers who are not accustomed to such brute hitting from the opposition were surprised by Pant's powerful knock. Here is what Twitter had to say about Pant's fireworks at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
