While other Indian players will be busy with Indian Premier League (IPL), Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is set to play for Yorkshire in the 2018 England domestic cricket season.

The news of Pujara signing a deal with the English county was confirmed by the Yorkshire County Cricket Club on its website and Twitter handle couple of months back.

Before the season starts, the Indian ace batsman revealed his nickname called by his Yorkshire teammates. The reason for a new nickname is his teammates had problem pronouncing his name.

In a video posted by ESPNcricinfo's official Twitter handle, the 30-year-old said his Yorkshire mates call him Steve. But he personally likes his real name.

"Well I would prefer Cheteshwar, but it's difficult to pronounce so the guys have come up with Steve. But personally, I would prefer Cheteshwar. Jack Brooks started off with this. He couldn't pronounce my first name so he was asking me what nickname do I have. I said I don't have any. So they said we will start calling you Steve. Initially, they started calling me Puj, but they have started calling me Steve again. It's a good nickname, but I prefer Cheteshwar," said Pujara.

Pujara's nickname given by his friends and family is Chintu.
