Rohit Sharma rewrote the record books as he notched up his third double hundred in ODIs and became the first captain to hit 200 in ODI history. Thanks to his innings, India posted a huge total against Lanka in the second ODI at Chandigarh.
Rohit Sharma became the first batsman to score 3 double hundreds in ODI cricket history. Rohit and Shikhar (68) added 115 for the first wicket and then Rohit added 213 runs with Shreyas Iyer (88) for the second wicket. Indian innings took off in the last 15 overs, as Rohit Sharma went berserk on the Lankan bowlers.
Nuwan Pradeep went for 106 runs in his 10 overs and even Suranga Lakmal went for 71 runs in his 8 overs. Captain Thisara Perera took 3/80 in his 8 overs, but couldn’t stop Rohit from scoring 208* in 153 balls with 13 fours and 12 sixes.
