New Zealand wicket-keeper BJ Watling got out in a hilarious way. Watling, who missed the test match against the West Indies because of a hip injury was playing a domestic cricket match at New Zealand. He was in the Northern Districts side, in their Ford Trophy match against the Wellington Firebirds on Sunday.

The wicket-keeper was batting on 115 when he attempted a quick run. But it didn't end as per Watling's expectations. He started to struggle as a hamstring cramped up and he fell before reaching the safe zone inside the crease.

Wellington's Hamish Marshall ran him out with a direct throw at the stumps. Though, his innings was good enough to give his side a five-wicket win. They chased the given target of 263 on the penultimate ball of their innings.

Indian fans remember Watling for his world record sixth-wicket partnership of 352 with Brendon McCullum back in 2014. He had scored 124 runs.

The first test between West Indies and New Zealand concluded on Monday at the Basin Reserve, with Watling's replacement, Tom Blundell, going on to score 107 not out on debut as the Kiwis went on to win comprehensively by an innings and 67 runs with a day and a half remaining.

Watling may not get to play in the second test too, which starts in Hamilton on Saturday.

Black Caps captain Kane Williamson drew attention to Watling's dismissal at the press conference after the Black Caps' win against the West Indies in Wellington.

"He got a hundred yesterday and played really well and cramped up and got run out which is worth a look on YouTube."

Kane praised Watling and said he is a world-class player for the Kiwis for a number of years and his progress was being monitored by the Black Caps' hierarchy.

Even Tim Southee was in splits after watching Watling's run out. He shared the clip on his Instagram account.
