Popular YouTuber iShowSpeed, or Speed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., was seen learning the game of cricket and, after achieving a huge feat, yelled that Virat Kohli, the ICC, and the Mumbai team needed to call him.
Speed is one of the most famous faces on YouTube, where he boasts a following of almost 55 million. He has been trying to gain an Indian audience, and the best way to do so has been by showing interest in the game of cricket.
In a viral video, Speed is seen wearing the Antigua and Barbuda shirt somewhere in the Caribbean. He is at the non-striker’s end and watches West Indian pacer Alzarri Joseph bowl way outside the off-stump.
The 21-year-old influencer then decides to have a shot of his own at the stumps. He tries to emulate the bowling action and throws the ball at the stumps, and manages to hit the stumps. Elated at achieving this feat, Speed goes on a rampage.
He can be heard shouting, "I might be the greatest. Virat Kohli, call me… The ICC called me; the Mumbai cricket team called me. Virat Kohli, bruh, you might need to call me.”
A US citizen, Speed was also in attendance during the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match in New York in 2024. He was particularly cheering for Kohli.
