A comedy of errors unfolded during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium, Karachi on Wednesday (April 15).
In the first innings, Quetta tailenders Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq were at the crease. Facing a free-hit delivered by Ali Raza following a waist-high no-ball, Abrar hit the ball to the off-side but remained near his crease to watch the ball. His partner, Tariq, immediately ran toward the striker's end.
Abrar eventually moved halfway down the pitch before deciding to refuse the run, forcing Tariq to turn back while both were stranded in the middle of the pitch.
After collecting the ball at point, Farhan Yousaf ran towards the pitch but appeared indecisive about which end to target, as both batters were momentarily vulnerable to a run-out.
Once Abrar scrambled back to the striker's end, Yousaf attempted to pivot and throw at the non-striker's end to get Tariq out. Despite having a clear view of all three stumps, Yousaf threw while off-balance and missed the target entirely, allowing both batters to survive.
Here’s the video:
Yousaf’s blunder had little impact on the result as the Gladiators finished with a sub-par total of 154, which Peshawar Zalmi chased down with eight wickets and nine balls to spare on the back of Babar Azam's unbeaten 71.
