India and RCB keeper-batter Jitesh Sharma revealed the emotions in the Indian team dressing room ahead of big matches against arch rivals Pakistan and brutally roasted the Green Shirts while appearing on the Ranveer Allahabadia podcast.
Jitesh Sharma, who has been part of matches against Pakistan, addressed whether Indian players get emotional when facing Pakistan.
“Wahi control karne ki baat hai (That’s what we have to control),” he said, highlighting how crucial it is to maintain composure in marquee clashes.
However, Jitesh further made a brutal confession and revealed that Indian players do not give importance to the Pakistan team and focus on their own preparations instead.
“Nahi, itna dete hi nahi importance unko. Itna dil pe aur dimaag pe lagate hi nahi hai (We don’t give them so much importance),” Jitesh said.
He went even further in comparing opposing teams, claiming that Australia and South Africa present a greater challenge.
“South Africa and Australia are challenging teams because they play good cricket. Yeh log [Pakistan] cricket nahi khel rahe hai achcha,” he added.
Jitesh also revealed how Gautam Gambhir has made Indian players approach any game without involving emotions.
“We don't have to play with emotion. Emotion se khelenge toh we might lose too. So, let's win the game and phir uske baat jo expression karna hai karenge,” he said.
Jitesh spoke on an on-field occasion in which he mimicked Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed's celebration with teammates Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana following an Asia Cup match.
“Isne Sanju bhai ko out karke aisa kiya. Toh woh cheez hum logon ko pasand nahi aayi toh, humne woh kiya (He did that after dismissing Sanju Samson, and we didn’t like it, so we gave it back), he explained.
Jitesh Sharma, who is the vice-captain of the RCB side, will be in action when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2026 opening game on Saturday, March 28.
