Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, who was snubbed from the Men in Green squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026, was seen flying kites on a rooftop. Rauf, who played for Pakistan in the last two T20 World Cups in 2022 and 2024, was left out in favor of more spin.
This was because Pakistan will play all of their T20 World Cup 2026 matches in Sri Lanka, which favors spinners.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee snubbed Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan while selecting a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, but did include Babar Azam.
Pakistan's head coach, Mike Hesson, claimed that Rauf was considered for the T20 World Cup, but he was removed because the chosen pace attack can perform in all three phases of play.
“We considered Haris Rauf, Wasim Jr, and Ahmed Daniyal, but they couldn't make it because the other three, Shaheen, Salman, and Naseem, can bowl in all three phases," said the head coach.
Coming to Haris Rauf, he had courted huge controversy when he made controversial gestures of a flying jet crashing when Pakistan clashed with India in Dubai in the Asia Cup 2025. This was a reference to Pakistan’s unverified claims of downing seven Indian Rafale jets during the Operation Sindoor in May that year.
Haris Rauf, along with fellow pacer Hassan Ali, was seen flying kites on a rooftop in a video that has gone viral on social media.
However, fans didn’t like that Haris Rauf was flying kites instead of working on his bowling and decided to troll him on social media.
