Virat Kohli returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT 2025) and set the stage on fire for Delhi against Andhra Pradesh. This match was played on December 24, 2025, at the BCCI CoE ground in Bengaluru.
Delhi captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. Ricky Bhui and Shaikh Rasheed added 92 runs for the third wicket for Andhra, with Rasheed making 31 runs. Bhui continued to hold one end up as Nitish Reddy made 23, Hemanth Reddy made 27, and SDNV Prasad made 28 runs.

Kohli hit some stylish shots and made his way to 131 runs in 101 balls with 14 fours and 3 sixes to his name, before he was dismissed by PVSN Raju. Nitish Rana made 77 in 55 balls, and in the end, Delhi registered a comfortable win over Andhra.
During his knock of 131, Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of being the fastest to 16000 List-A games, reaching the milestone in his 330th innings.
Tendulkar had reached the milestone of 16,000 runs in 391 innings, culminating with 21,999 runs from 538 innings in 551 List A games, including 18,426 from 452 ODIs. Kohli has accumulated 14,557 runs over 296 ODI innings. Kohli now holds the record for the fastest time to each block of 1000 List A runs, starting at 10,000.
Tendulkar and Kohli are the only Indians in the top five on the list of fastest to 16,000 runs in List A cricket. The others, below them, are Gordon Greenidge (422 innings), Ricky Ponting (430 innings) and Graham Gooch, and Viv Richards (435 innings).
