Babar Azam, a known Pakistani batter, has not had the best outing in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL 15) for the Sydney Sixers. He had made his BBL debut for the Sixers against the Perth Scorchers in Perth on December 14 and was dismissed for two runs.
His second outing came on December 17, when the Sixers faced off against the Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Babar opened the innings for the Sixers along with Daniel Hughes and made his way to 9 runs off 10 balls with one four.
He was the first Sydney Sixers batter to be dismissed on Wednesday. On the second delivery of the Sixers' third over, Matthew Short caught Babar off Luke Wood's bowling. Babar played an uppish flick on the leg-side, where Matt Short took an easy catch, diving forward.
Babar, the highest run scorer in T20Is, is one of many Pakistani players competing in this year's BBL, but in the two matches he has played, he has fallen short of expectations.
Meanwhile, Josh Phillippe starred for Sixers, with 46, while Jack Edwards made 32 runs and captain Moises Henriques made 20, taking Sixers to 159/9 in 20 overs.
For Strikers, Luke Wood was the pick of the bowlers with 3/26, while Jamie Overton and Lloyd Pope took two wickets each.
