Rivaba Jadeja, wife of India cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, who is also a BJP MLA in Gujarat, has stirred significant controversy while attempting to highlight her husband's exceptional discipline.
Speaking at an event in Dwarka, Gujarat, she discussed the "vices" of the cricket team while providing an interesting viewpoint on the ethical dilemmas encountered by well-known athletes.
"My husband, the cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, has to travel to many countries like London, Dubai, and Australia to play cricket. Despite this, to this day, he has never touched or engaged in any kind of addiction or vice, because he understands his responsibilities. The rest of the team all indulge in vices, but there is no restriction on them,” Rivaba Jadeja stated at an event.
Her remarks also drew attention to the challenges inherent in a life spent touring the globe as elite cricketers.
“My husband has been away from home for 12 years; he can do whatever he wants, but he understands his moral duty - what he needs to do,” she added.
Rivaba's failure to identify any players or offer evidence has encouraged speculation. The response on social media has been amazing. Some social media users have termed her statement as foolish and dangerous, while others questioned why she would openly trash her husband's teammates without naming them.
According to Rivaba Jadeja's remarks, Jadeja stands apart in the demanding world of professional cricket because of his self-control. Jadeja, since making his debut for his country in 2009, has participated in 89 Test matches, 207 ODIs, and 74 T20Is. In addition to bagging 634 wickets with his left-arm spin bowling, he has amassed close to 6500 runs throughout formats.
