Iceland's remark comes at a time when Gautam Gambhir's red-ball record is under intense scrutiny. Since taking over as India's head coach in mid-2024, his team has gone from a 0-3 home whitewash to New Zealand—India's first home series defeat in 12 years—to a 1-3 loss in Australia, which cost them the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
