The Indian cricket fraternity expressed shock at the news of the blast near the Red Fort in Delhi and shared condolences towards the victims of the blast. The incident occurred on November 10, 2025.
As per reports, 8 people lost their lives and 24 people were injured in the blast that took place in a car on a busy evening when the area was milling with people. The wounded were taken to the LNJP hospital, a few kilometers away.
The explosion occurred hours after authorities discovered approximately 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate as well as a stash of rifles and ammunition at a Kashmiri doctor's rented residence in Haryana's Faridabad city. Dr. Muzammil Ganaie, a Kashmiri, was detained in Faridabad in connection with the recovery of guns.
Security will be increased in and around Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium for the final day of the Ranji Trophy Group D match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir.
