Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes took to social media to express his concerns about Delhi’s worsening air quality.
Delhiites are facing increasingly toxic air quality each day, with pollution levels crossing the 400 mark in several parts of the city over the weekend.
Rhodes, who has spent a considerable amount of time in India over the years, shared his observations on X, emphasizing the difference between Delhi’s pollution and the much cleaner environment in Goa, where he currently resides.
He drew everyone’s attention to growing pollution crisis in Delhi by posting two pictures — one from the national capital and another from Goa.
“Passing through Delhi en route to Ranchi this evening, and as always, it’s hard to digest the low levels of air quality here. Am grateful to be living in a small fishing village in South Goa," Rhodes wrote.
In another post, the Proteas legend highlighted the freedom his children enjoy in Goa compared to Delhi, where pollution forces people to stay indoors.
“This is what my “home" sunsets look like – and yes, those are my kids playing football! In Delhi they suggest staying indoors."
The Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi has predicted that the city's air quality will remain in the 'very poor' category over the next few days.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered "good", 51 to 100 "satisfactory", 101 to 200 "moderate", 201 to 300 "poor", 301 to 400 "very poor" and 401 to 500 "severe", as per the CPCB classification.
