Babar Azam made his return to Pakistan domestic cricket after seven years, and his comeback ended with 12 and 4 runs in the match. He turned out as a guest player for Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in the third round of the President's Trophy Grade-I at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium.

Many fans turned out at the stadium to watch their favorite batter in action in domestic cricket. However, in the first innings, Babar Azam managed 12 runs in 20 balls before Arshad Iqbal bounced the ace Pakistani batter out. OGDCL struggled and made 217 runs in response to KRL’s 398 runs.

OGDCL was asked to follow on, and openers gave a good start before the team lost two wickets. Babar Azam walked out to bat at no. 4 and looked solid, taking his time and playing 14 balls, scoring 4 runs.

However, his innings came to an end shortly, as Faheem Ashraf got the better of him. In the 37th over of the second innings, Ashraf bowled an in-dipper to Babar, who tried to defend the ball on the front foot. However, the ball hit him right in front of the stumps on the pad.

Ashraf appealed loudly, and the umpire, after taking a few seconds, gave Babar Azam out, leaving his team 118/3. It was another failure for the Pakistan Test captain, who had a difficult outing in the recent England Test series as well.
