On Monday, September 7, Ishan Kishan made history by being the first wicketkeeper-batter to score a 250 in a Duleep Trophy match.
In the first innings of East Zone's match versus South Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2026 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the 28-year-old left-handed batter from Jharkhand hit 270 off 334 balls before being dismissed.
He hit 30 fours and 7 sixes in his knock and added 230 runs off 287 balls for the fifth wicket with Kumar Kushagra (101) and 140 runs off 180 balls for the sixth wicket with Anukul Roy (45).
Naman Ojha formerly held the record for the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batter in a Duleep Trophy match. Naman scored 217 runs off 348 balls in the 2014 Duleep Trophy encounter between Central Zone and North Zone at Mohali.

Kishan also broke the record of Dinesh Karthik for the highest score by a keeper-batter in the Duleep Trophy final. Karthik had made 183 for South Zone in the 2010 Duleep Trophy final.
In the first innings of the current Chennai match, Ishan scored 270, which is the 8th highest individual score in Duleep Trophy history.
Raman Lamba holds the record for the best individual score in Duleep Trophy history. In the 1987 Duleep Trophy encounter between North Zone and West Zone in Bhilai, Lamba scored 320 runs off 471 balls.
