Nitish Rana dedicated his fifty in the recent game of Delhi Premier League T20 2026 edition to his late mother. The incident happened when his West Delhi Lions clashed with South Delhi Superstars on August 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Nitish Rana had top-scored for his team with 60 in 33 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes, while captain Ayush Doseja (27) and Krish Yadav (25) as WDL posted 169 runs in 20 overs. Anshuman Hooda took 4/27, while Ankit Dabas and Vivek Tiwari took two wickets each.

With a boundary off the third ball of the ninth over of West Delhi's innings, Rana reached his fifty in just 27 deliveries. After that, he devoted his fifty years to his late mother Satish, who died of illness on August 7.

Rana also wore a jersey bearing ‘N Satish’ on the back as a tribute to his late mother. He raised both his hands and pointed towards the sky to dedicate the fifty to his late mother and then had to compose himself while sitting on his haunches.

Overcome with emotion, he was consoled by opposition cricketers and the umpire.

Nitish’s wife Saachi Marwah commented on DPLT20’s post about Nitish’s emotional dedication: “Mumma is here with you.”
