Gautam Gambhir was recently part of the Indian team on their white-ball tour of the UK, where the Men in Blue lost 0-2 to Ireland and 0-4 to England in T20Is, while losing 1-2 to England in ODIs. He is currently on a break as VVS Laxman has taken over the head coach duties.
Under Laxman’s guidance, India defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 and will also play the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
Gambhir will rejoin the Indian team for the two-Test series in Sri Lanka, beginning on August 15.
