MS Dhoni, legendary India captain and keeper-batter, is celebrating his 45th birthday on July 7, 2026. After a great career for India from 2004 to 2020, MS Dhoni announced his retirement on August 15, 2020.
He is still the only skipper in the world to have won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011, and the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. He also won the ICC Test Mace as India captain during his tenure/
Dhoni represented India in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20Is, scoring 4,876, 10,773, and 1,617 runs, respectively. His final international match for India came in the 2019 World Cup semifinal. He declared his retirement in 2020.
In 278 IPL games, MS Dhoni, also lovingly known as ‘Thala’, has amassed 5439 runs with 24 fifties at a strike rate of 137.85 and a top score of 84*. In the IPL, he has also hit 264 sixes. From 2008 to 2015 and from 2018 until 2023, he led the Chennai Super Kings, which won five IPL titles.
