Australia's women’s team continued their dominant run as they became the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 champions after defeating England women in the final on July 5, 2026, at Lord’s in London.

Australia captain Sophie Molineux won the toss and chose to bowl first. Australian bowlers rattled the in-form England openers Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Amy Jones for single-digit scores. However, Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt remained not out for 58 with 5 fours.

Alice Capsey (23) and Freya Camp (44* with four fours and one six) helped Sciver-Brunt push England’s score to a competitive 150/4 in 20 overs. For Australia women, Kim Garth, Lucy Hamilton, Sophie Molineux, and Annabel Sutherland picked one wicket each.

Lauren Bell began England’s defense in the right way, dismissing Georgia Voll for 9 runs. But then Beth Mooney showed her class, hitting 64 in 49 balls with 10 fours. Phoebe Litchfield provided support, scoring 48 with 6 fours and 2 sixes, adding 100 runs with Mooney.

Ellyse Perry remained not out on 13 as Australia women achieved the target in 17.1 overs and won the game by 7 wickets.

Beth Mooney was named the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament as Australia lifted the Women’s T20 World Cup for a record seventh time.

The cricket fraternity was all praise for the dominance shown by Australia women and lauded them for their title win.
