The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 auction that got underway on Friday, June 5, star Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, who is the vice-captain of India's Test team for the one-off match against Afghanistan beginning June 6 in New Chandigarh, failed to find a buyer.
Rahul, who scored 593 runs in 14 IPL 2026 games for Delhi Capitals, was the second player to go under the hammer in the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 auction. KL Rahul had entered the auction with a base price of Rs 2 lakh.
However, teams were not interested in signing him in the first round because the auctioneer announced that Rahul's availability for the competition was not confirmed.

Some of the best Indian players from Karnataka who play in the KSCA T20 Maharaja Trophy include Devdutt Padikkal, Mayank Agarwal, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Shreyas Gopal, Karun Nair, and Manish Pandey. The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 matches are set to take place between June 20 and July 12.
The Indian men's cricket squad will play two T20Is in Ireland (June 26 and 28) and three ODIs (July 14-19) and five T20Is in England (July 1, 4, 7, 9, and 11) during that time.
Rahul has not been part of the Indian T20I team since the 2022 T20 World Cup, but if he had found a buyer in the KSCA T20 auction, he would’ve missed the start of the tournament due to India playing Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series.
Rahul is the designated keeper in India’s ODI squad, and the third ODI between India and Afghanistan is slated on June 20 in Chennai.
