Suryakumar Yadav impressed Aakash Chopra the most | GettyIndia’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka ended with the third and final T20I on Thursday (July 29) in Colombo.

While the Shikhar Dhawan-led young Indian side clinched the ODI series 2-1, they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the three-T20I series after COVID-19 scare forced the team to not field their first-choice XI.

After the series, former cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra posted a video on his Youtube channel, in which he picked out top 5 positives for Team India from the tour.

According to Chopra, Suryakumar Yadav was the most impressive performer for India in the limited-overs series. For his 124 runs in three ODIs, Suryakumar was adjudged Player-of-the-Series in the 50-over series while he featured in only T20I and scored a dazzling half-century.

At No. 2, Chopra picked leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, who played three matches (1 ODI and 2 T20Is) on the tour and returned with seven wickets.

Aakash Chopra put seam bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar at No. 3 in his list of impressive performers. Deepak featured in three games on the tour (2 ODIs and 1 T20I) and claimed 6 wickets from it. He also played a precious knock of 69* in the second ODI to script India’s series-clinching victory.

For Chopra, wrist-spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal’s return to form was one of the biggest takeaways for India and he put Kul-Cha’s showing at No. 4.

While Kuldeep picked up four wickets in as many games on the tour, Chahal took six wickets from three outings. Both of them bowled in tandem in the middle overs and were economical with the ball.

As per Aakash Chopra, veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the attack brilliantly and he placed his performance at No. 5. Vice-captain on the tour, Bhuvneshwar finished the white-ball series with eight scalps from five matches. He also made handy contributions with the bat in a couple of games.
