India's fragile batting line-up collapsed due to lack of depth in the third T20I against Sri Lanka.

Indian cricket team suffered a collapse in the third T20I against Sri Lanka, as wickets fell in a cluster inside the first 10 overs. They were 5 down on 36 runs and ended up scoring only 81/8 in 20 overs.

Unfortunately, Team India played with only 5 specialist batsmen and they were at least couple of batsmen short after nine players were sent in isolation due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the camp. The lack of batting depth hurt them in the three-match T20I series after Sri Lanka chased down the low target in 14.3 overs.

Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle posted a tweet asking for a bowling all-rounder to apply to the Indian cricket team after the collapse. "If you are a decent Indian bowler who bats, send in your application," the tweet read.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan dropped a comment on the post as he fitted the requirement during his playing days. He wrote "Ok" in the reply and Bhogle had a laugh while agreeing Irfan would be the right candidate. "Haha! You would have been perfect!", Bhogle replied to Irfan.

Unfortunately, Irfan never represented India after 2012. The all-rounder was only 27 years old when he made his last appearance in the limited-overs format. He took 301 wickets and scored 2821 runs across formats in international cricket.
