According to the report, officials from SLC and BCCI are optimistic that the match, postponed after Krunal's positive result, will be conducted smoothly.

"Hopefully the match could be played today," Cricbuzz quoted a top SLC official as saying.

The report also suggests that the SLC officials have shifted Krunal to another hotel while the rest of the Indian squad continues to stay at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Galle Street, Colombo.

"Yes, we have moved Krunal to an intermediate care hotel Mount Lavinia," SLC secretary Mohan de Silva told Cricbuzz.

It is still not clear whether the eight players, who were deemed to be close contacts with Krunal Pandya, will be available for selection in the second and third T20I or not.

Although all eight members have returned COVID-19 negative, they have been asked to stay indoors and in isolation till further instructions.

Meanwhile, the stakeholders and sponsors of Sri Lanka Cricket have been informed that the remaining two T20Is, in all probability, will be staged on Wednesday and Thursday as announced.

"We should know by afternoon about the fate of the game but there should not be any issues with the game," a stakeholder confirmed to Cricbuzz.

Having won the opening T20I by 38 runs, Team India are leading the series 1-0.
