India's wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan pulled off a smart stumping against Sri Lanka in the first T20I on Sunday (July 25). Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy, who was playing his debut T20I match for India.
Shanaka was beaten by the mystery spinner and Kishan was alert behind the stumps. The Sri Lankan skipper was well behind the crease but he lifted his foot for a very short time and the India wicket-keeper punished him.

Kishan's stumping reminded everyone of former India wicket-keeper MS Dhoni, who used to give a very small margin of error to the batsman. Dhoni has often got the batsman out with his quick glovework, as well as, perfect timely stumping which Kishan showcased.
Eventually, a target of 165 runs turned out too much for the hosts as they lost the match by 38 runs. India bowled out Sri Lanka for 126 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
India are coming to the T20I face-off after winning the ODI series by 2-1 against Sri Lanka. They will clash in the second T20I match on Tuesday (July 27).
