Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy is likely to make his debut in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. He had missed out on the Australia tour due to an injury and the home series against England after failing the fitness test.

Team India will face Sri Lanka in the first T20I on Sunday (July 25), and Dinesh Karthik expressed his excitement for the debut of the mystery spinner. Karthik posted a tweet suggesting that he feels Chakravarthy will get his India cap in Colombo.

"I get the feeling, a mystery spinner is going to make his debut for ???????? tonight in Colombo ???? #INDvSL #T20Cricket #T20I," he posted on Twitter.

Karthik has played alongside Chakravarthy in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both the cricketers are part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise. When the spinner comes in to bowl in IPL, we usually hear Karthik guiding him from behind the stumps in Tamil.

The Tamil Nadu spinner would be looking to make an impact with his bowling in the three-match series. It may help Chakravarthy to boost his chance for selection in Team India's 2021 T20 World Cup squad.
