The Sri Lankan cricket is going through a very lean patch and having lost the last four limited over series consecutively, things seem to be going just downhill at the moment for the team.

They recently lost the first two ODIs of the three-match series to India and in the process lost their 9th consecutive ODI series to the Men in Blue.

The Sri Lanka team can surely use some positive news at this moment to lift their spirits and a respite has come for them as batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been declared fit for the third and final ODI of the series.

The batsman had suffered a knee injury while fielding in the second ODI on July 20 and was taken off from the field for the rest of the match.

However, as per the latest tweet from Sri Lanka Cricket, the player has recovered well and will be available for the next match on Friday (23rd July).

“Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who suffered a sprain on his left knee, has recovered. He will be available for selection for the 3rd ODI.” Read the tweet.

The Sri Lanka cricket team was fined 20 percent of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate against India in the second match.

The third and final ODI of the series will be played on Friday (23rd July) at the same venue.
