As Virat Kohli and Co. are in UK for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, a new Indian team with Shikhar Dhawan as captain and Rahul Dravid as coach was announced to tour Sri Lanka for a white-ball tour.
Since the announcement of Rahul Dravid as head coach of the senior Indian team, there has been a lot of excitement amongst the fans and pundits to see how the team performs under the former India skipper.
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in his recent virtual press-conference talked about the inputs he received from Dravid.
“He said, do whatever you want to do, be focused on whatever you are doing. He told me, you are a senior and need to guide the youngsters in the team. Also, he said the series is important for me and I am focused on that only,” Chahal said.

When asked about the adjusting to ODI cricket, considering Chahal primarily has only played T20s in the better part of last six months, the leggie said, “Yeah...I am playing an ODI series after a long time. We already played two practice matches here.”
”ODIs are different compared to T20s. I have played 50-plus (ODI) matches, so it should not be an issue. "And when I bowl, I only focus on how to get batsmen out. That's it,” he added.
Team India led by Shikhar Dhawan with Bhuvneshwar Kumar as his deputy will be playing a three-match ODI and as many T20I series against Sri Lanka.
The BCCI secretary Jay Shah recently confirmed that the ODI series that was scheduled to begin from 13 July has now been postponed to 18 July after a COVID-19 outbreak in the Sri Lankan camp that returned from England.
