SL v IND 2021: 20-member support staff for Indian team on Sri Lanka tour revealed; two selectors to travel also

Shikhar Dhawan will captain India, while Rahul Dravid will be the head coach | APThe names of the 20-member support staff for the Indian team who will travel to Sri Lanka for the white-ball tour in July have been revealed. It has also been confirmed that two BCCI selectors from the Chetan Sharma-led panel will also accompany the Indian team.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked two selectors of the Chetan Sharma-headed selection panel- Abey Kuruvilla and Debasis Mohanty- to travel with the Shikhar Dhawan-led India team to Sri Lanka, where they will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

"They are already in Mumbai and are quarantining with other members of the touring party," a BCCI office-bearer has confirmed the development to Cricbuzz.

Apart from them, Rahul Dravid will travel to Sri Lanka as the head coach of the Indian team for this tour with an 18-member support staff accompanying the 25-member India side. India will play a couple of intra-squad practice games in Sri Lanka before the white-ball series.

The team will leave for Sri Lanka on Monday (June 28). The first game of the six-match series starts on July 13. Sudhir Asnani of Indore, a former international panel umpire, will accompany the side as the manager.

However, the BCCI has not sent any selector with the Indian team for the tour of England due to the restriction over travel to the UK from India. And there is no guarantee that any member of the selection committee will be in England for the five-Test series that starts on August 4.
