A lot of new faces will be seen for Team India on their upcoming Sri Lanka tour, which includes three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, Chetan Sakariya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Nitish Rana are few names who have been named in the squad.
The players and staff members were under quarantine in Mumbai and now they will be preparing for the tour in the bio-bubble before flying to Sri Lanka.
BCCI shared a video featuring Padikkal, K Gowtham, Sakariya, and others where they talked about the preparation and excitement of wearing the Team India kit.
“It’s much better here in the gym (than training alone in the room during quarantine)," said Padikkal. Gowtham pulled Padikkal's leg and said he needs to pick more weights in the gym.
"Training with him has been fun but he needs to pick some more weights to get stronger," he jokingly said in the video.

Sakariya, who was one of the talked-about youngsters in the Indian Premier League 2021, is excited about his maiden India call-up.
“Since the time I have been out of the room, have been looking at myself wearing the jersey. I am very excited as this is my first call-up to the national squad. Players have become quite used to the quarantine. Feels good to have met with everyone," he said.
Rana was finding it hard to stay in the isolation but he's now feeling better after meeting his teammates. He said, “First seven days I was waiting to meet my teammates and wear the jersey. It was a bit tough to wait every minute. It felt like each hour was passing like a year. Have met with new people, learned new things. Looking forward to the intense workout and doing well in the series," he said.
As per ESPNCricinfo, the Team India squad, led by Shikhar Dhawan, will land in Colombo on June 28. They will then undergo another three-day quarantine in their hotel rooms before starting training as per the guidelines laid out by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
