This will be Dravid’s second stint with the senior Indian side. He has previously worked with the team as batting consultant during the England tour in 2014.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Dravid will be accompanied by some of his NCA coaching staff members during the tour.

The report further says that India’s white-ball team has been assured of one-week preparation ahead of the opening match.

As was the case with the Indian contingent for the England tour, the BCCI will have players quarantine in India for a few days before their departure to the island nation. The players may have to serve isolation in Sri Lanka as well if the country's protocols at that time suggest so.

As per the Sri Lanka Ministry of Health guidelines, one-day quarantine is needed for the fully vaccinated people from India. These rules are applicable up to June 30 but they can change after June 30.

India’s second-string team will tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and as many T20Is since the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and other senior players are already in UK for the WTC final and the five-Test series against England.

All six games (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is) of the Sri Lanka tour will be held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While the ODI series will be played from July 13 to July 18, the T20I series will run from July 21 to July 25.
