Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is considered as one of the finest fielders to play the game, was not impressed with Team India's fielding efforts in the first ODI against South Africa.

Yuvraj posted a tweet on Friday (January 21) and expressed his disappointment over the poor fielding by the Indian cricket team. He watched the highlights of the match and mentioned the overthrow which cost India five runs on 1 ball.

"Watching the highlights disappointed with the fielding! Guys looking at each other on overthrows expecting the other guy to field I mean u need to put your body on the line for every run that’s what our generation taught us Losing and winning is part of the game but not like this," he tweeted.

It was the first ball of the 34th over when Rassie van der Dussen had tried to steal a single. Shreyas Iyer quickly collected the ball and went for a direct hit at the striker's end but he missed.

There was a poor backup by Shardul Thakur and R Ashwin, who gifted South Africa five runs with a misfield.

South Africa beat India by 31 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The hosts restricted the KL Rahul-led side for 265/8 in 50 overs while defending 297 at the Boland Park in Paarl.
