Former India captain Virat Kohli and South Africa captain Temba Bavuma exchanged words during the first ODI on Wednesday (January 19). Kohli's throw at the wicket-keeper's end made Bavuma upset, as he almost got hit.

The incident happened during the 36th over in South Africa's innings when leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling. Bavuma, who was batting on 78 runs had hit the fourth delivery of the over towards the cover region.

Kohli was placed there and he collected the ball before an aggressive throw to Rishabh Pant. Bavuma got out of the way on time to avoid taking a blow and he soon went on to have a chat with the Indian fielder.

The 33-year-old was seen uttering a few words to the Proteas batter before they both went back to their place. Here is the video:

Bavuma scored 110 runs off 143 deliveries in the first ODI which South Africa won by 31 runs. They had posted a total of 296/4 in 50 overs and their bowlers did a great job in restricting India to 265/8.

Kohli scored 51 runs in 63 balls, and Shikhar Dhawan contributed 79 runs off 84 deliveries. At the end, when the game was almost out of India's hands, Shardul Thakur added a quick 43-ball 50* runs.

Rassie van der Dussen was the Player of the Match for his 129* runs knock off just 96 deliveries. He smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.
