PICS: Team India celebrate New Year's eve in Pretoria
India won the first Test in Centurion on the back of a magnificent ton by KL Rahul and collective performances by the fast bowling attack led by Mohammad Shami. It was the first time an Asian team won a Test against South Africa at the venue that has been like a fortress for the hosts.
Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane's lack of big scores remain a concern for the visitors who prefer to go with a batter less in order to play five specialist bowlers. Head coach Rahul Dravid and his support staff will be hopeful to see the experienced batters turn up in the New Year with some impactful performances.
India is likely to stick to the same combination unless there's an injury concern before the toss. There is the option of choosing between Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav if India wishes to rest one of the seamers as part of workload management and strategy.
BCCI, on Saturday, shared a video clip and few pictures from the team's practice session at Wanderers on their social media accounts.
