BCCI President Sourav Ganguly lauded the Indian team after their historic Test win in Centurion as they defeated South Africa by 113 runs to go 1-0 up in the three-match series. Ganguly also felt that the hosts would need to play some special cricket to beat India in the upcoming two Tests.
Ganguly is currently hospitalized in Kolkata after contracting COVID-19 and was under observation due to having prior heart complications and was given Antibody Cocktail Therapy to aid in recovery from the virus.
The former India captain was not surprised by Team India's win as he feels the visitors will be hard to beat in the ongoing series.
"Great victory for Team India ..not surprised by the result at all...will be a hard team to beat this series..South Africa will have to play out of their skins to do that ..enjoy the new year," Ganguly tweeted.
Mohammad Shami shined with the ball, picking 8 wickets and completing 200 scalps in Test cricket. Jasprit Bumrah picked five wickets in the match and KL Rahul scored a Player of the Match award winning century in the first innings, setting up the match for India.
