India head coach Rahul Dravid on Wednesday (December 29) rung the bell at SuperSport Park in Centurion before the start of Day 4's play of the first Test against South Africa. India started Day 4's play from their overnight score of 16/1 with KL Rahul and Shardul Thakur coming out to bat.

India lost Shardul early in the first session and their score read 34/2 with Cheteshwar Pujara coming out to bat at number 4. Mayank Agarwal was the first wicket for India before the stumps on Day 3.

In the first innings, India scored 327 runs, which included a century from Rahul and a half-century from Mayank. They bowled out South Africa for 197 runs in reply and Mohammad Shami was the pick of the bowler with a fifer; he also completed his 200 Test wickets.

The visitors would look to set a safe target before declaration with only one more day to go in the Test match after today. Indian pacers are capable of bowling out the opposition in a day and we saw that in the first innings.
