Indian batting collapsed from 272/3 to 327 all-out as Lungi Ngidi (6/72) and Kagiso Rabada with three wickets routed the visitors as they lost their last seven wickets for 55 runs. KL Rahul top-scored with 123 runs, while Ajinkya Rahane made 48.

Indian team returned fire with fire when their turn to bowl came. Apart from Bumrah taking the wicket of Elgar, Mohammad Shami scalped Aiden Markram (13) and Keegan Petersen (15).

However, tragedy struck India in the 11th over as Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle badly on his follow through and had to limp off the field with India physio Nitin Patel to get treatment, with Mohammed Siraj completing his over.

Meanwhile, BCCI shared an update on Bumrah confirming the bowler suffered an ankle sprain and is being monitored by the medical team.
