Former Team India bowling coach Bharat Arun passed on valuable tips to the Indian pacers as the Virat Kohli-led side prepares for the Test series against South Africa. Team India is all set to clash with South Africa in three Tests and three ODIs.

The tour will kick start with the Boxing Day Test from December 26 at SuperSport Park, Centurion followed by the second Test at Johannesburg from January 3 to 7. The final Test will take place in Cape Town from January 11 to 15.

The three-ODI series will be played from 19th January to 23rd January.

The Test squad has started to begin their preparations in Centurion. The series will hold extreme importance for the Virat Kohli-led side as South Africa is the only country where India has never won a Test series.

There’s no doubt that the pacers will have to play a huge role if Team India is looking to script history as they are one of the main reasons behind the Virat Kohli-led side’s success in overseas conditions.

Speaking to veteran journalist Boria Majumdar on the show Palat De - Breaking News, Bharat Arun urged Indian bowlers to be mean and not give away anything to the batters.

“I would still go for them (Indian bowlers) being very accurate. All the time, I tell the bowlers to work for excellence. It's not chasing wickets, it’s not going after anything. It is just the thought of being very very mean - not giving the batters anything,” Bharat Arun said.

Bharat Arun further shared his mantra for Indian bowlers, saying that the pacers should put the opposition under the pressure. He remarked that if they failed to get wickets they need to curtail the flow of runs and in the process, if they take two wickets they’ll be on the top of the game.

“There are two ways to put pressure on a team. One is to get wickets and the other way is to curtail the flow of runs. If you are not able to get wickets, you need to curtail runs so that the opponents don’t run away from you.

“They are where they are. And, the minute you get a couple of wickets, you are on top of the game. This is going to be the mantra and this is what, I think, they should be following,” he said.
