India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and his senior teammate Ajinkya Rahane got assisted by former India cricketer Vinod Kambli before flying to South Africa for a three-match Test series, followed by three ODIs.
Rahane is currently under a lot of pressure due to his poor batting form lately. He has already lost his vice-captaincy position in the Test side after the recently concluded New Zealand Test series.
The 33-year-old will have to make the opportunity count in the upcoming tour or his place in the Test side is going to be doubtful. India has good contenders to take the spot if Rahane is shown the door by the selectors.
Meanwhile, Pant must be eyeing to make an impact on his first South Africa tour with Team India. He has already shown his potential with the bat and improvement behind the stumps in the longest format.
Kambli posted a picture with Pant and Rahane on his Twitter account and wrote that he passed some “valuable insights” on playing in South African conditions. The ex-India batter had played for the Boland Cricket Club in the South African domestic circuit.
"Was a pleasure to help Ajinkya & Rishabh train for the upcoming South Africa series. Shared some valuable insights with them about the SA conditions. My best wishes to them for #SAvIND series. P.S. Christiano got some lessons as well," wrote Kambli.
