Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was the center of attraction as the Indian team had their practice session ahead of the T20I series against Ireland. India and Ireland will play two T20Is in Belfast on June 26 and 28.
Sooryavanshi had broken Sachin Tendulkar’s record, becoming the youngest cricketer to be chosen in the India team. If he is picked for either of the T20Is, Sooryavanshi will become the youngest-ever to make his India debut in international cricket, breaking yet another record of Sachin Tendulkar.
Before the matches began, BCCI shared a video of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s first outing in India nets. As Sooryavanshi stood guard in the nets, he appeared totally relaxed. He used his usual fearless style to clear the boundary and play attacking strokes. Gautam Gambhir, the head coach, kept a close eye on Sooryavanshi while he batted.
During the young player's batting session, Sitanshu Kotak, the batting coach for India, kept a close eye on him and occasionally offered advice while he performed his drills.
Kotak gave Sooryavanshi a thump on the back as the session came to a finish, demonstrating the support the adolescent had already received from the Indian camp.
In addition to hitting, Sooryavanshi was spotted exercising with his new teammates. During the warm-up, the young player stretched and ran with captain Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and vice-captain Tilak Varma.
