"Working with Bumrah at NCA has definitely been enriching,” says Prasidh Krishna after successful return post injury

Krishna made his comback to the Indian team after a long injury lay-off during the Ireland tour.

The Men in Blue won the three-T20I series 2-1 after the final game was washed out without a ball being bowled in Dublin on Wednesday (August 23).

Krishna played a key role in India’s series win. He returned with the figures of 2 for 32 in the first T20I while he claimed a couple of scalps by conceding 29 runs in the second match.

Speaking to JioCinema, Prasidh Krishna opened up on the support he received from senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah during their time together at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

"Working closely with Bumrah during our recovery at the NCA has definitely been enriching. His method of executing under pressure and his ability to keep things straightforward numerous occasions is inspiring. We've learned a lot from each other, and our partnership is already yielding results," Krishna stated.

The right-arm quick also spoke about the areas he focused on during his recovery period at the NCA.

"Our sessions at the NCA were thoroughly productive. The clarity we maintained and the regular assessment of our physical and mental fitness helped us in achieving our rehabilitation goals. We initially concentrated on promoting overall well-being before transitioning into bowling practice. This approach ensured a steady recovery and helped in preparing us for match conditions," he added.

Prasidh Krishna’s successful recovery and his brilliance on the Ireland tour also earned him a place in India’s 17-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

While the continental tournament is slated to get underway on August 30 in Multan, India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Pallekele on September 2.
