IRE v IND 2023: “He has got all the basic ingredients of fast bowling,” Aakash Chopra’s high praise for Prasidh Krishna

Krishna has impressed one and all on his comeback to the Indian team after a lengthy injury hiatus.

Krishna is currently in Ireland with the Indian team for a three-match T20I series. The right-arm quick returned with the figures of 2 for 32 in the series opener while he claimed a couple of scalps by conceding 29 runs in the second T20I.

Impressed with his exploits, former India opener Aakash Chopra said Prasidh Krishna has got all the basic ingredients of fast bowling.

Chopra’s comment came after India defeated Ireland by 33 runs in the second T20I in Dublin on Sunday (August 20) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

“There is no doubt that this Krishna will become Prasidh. He is one of my favorite bowlers. When I saw him for the first time, I said that he will become famous because he has got all the basic ingredients of fast bowling,” said Chopra while speaking on his YouTube channel.

“He has a high-arm action, gets good bounce and the pace is also around 140 kph. He has come back at a very good time. He picked up two wickets, both with short balls, first Paul Stirling and then Lorcan Tucker,” he added.

Aakash Chopra also praised leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, saying it was almost confirmed that he would pick a couple of wickets against Ireland. Bishnoi got rid of Harry Tector and Curtis Campher in the second T20I.

“Then Bishnoi comes and it is almost confirmed that Bishnoi will pick up two wickets against this team. He took two in the last match as well and he scalped two wickets in this match too,” he remarked.

The third T20I between India and Ireland will be played in Dublin on Wednesday (August 23).
