Invited to bat first, the Men in Blue racked up 185/5 on the board. Ruturaj Gaikwad top scored with 43-ball 58 while Sanju Samson (40 off 26) and Rinku Singh (38 off 21) chipped in with valuable contributions.

Defending the total, Indian bowlers did exceptionally well as a unit to restrict the hosts to 152/8. Jasprit Bumrah (2-15), Prasidh Krishna (2-29) and Ravi Bishnoi (2-37) picked up two wickets each while Arshdeep Singh (1-29) returned with one scalp.

Opener Andrew Balbirnie waged a lone battle with the bat for Ireland as he slammed 72 off 52 balls while no other batter managed to touch the 30-run mark.

Speaking after the game, Balbirnie said his team can beat India even though they conceded the T20I series with a game to spare.

Balbirnie praised India's bowling attack and added that "hopefully" his team could put on a good show in the last game of the series.

"They are a highly skilled bowling unit. Kind of disappointed. We are playing good cricket. Hopefully can put on a better show in the last game," Andrew Balbirnie said in a post-match presentation.

"Hopefully, we can get over the line on Wednesday. We can beat them (India) if we play better," he added.

The third and final T20I between India and Ireland will be held in Dublin on Wednesday (August 23).
